WILL YOU SEND ME GAMES I ALREADY HAVE?
No! As part of signing up, you’ll create a profile where you’ll add whatever board games you already own. And if you already have your collection recorded on boardgamegeek.com, you can import your username from there!
When we know what’s in your collection, we can be sure to send you new and different games every month. And if we mess up, we’ll send a replacement at no cost. Fair warning though, if you don’t tell us what you have, we won’t know which games not to send you.
DO I HAVE TO SEND THE GAMES BACK?
No! They are yours to keep! Game Box Monthly is not a rental service, nor do we send used games. Every game we mail is new and has not been owned, used, or played before.
WHEN AM I BILLED AND WHEN ARE GAMES DELIVERED?
When you first sign up, you’ll be billed at the time of sign up. When you first sign up, you’ll be billed at the time of sign up. After that, you’ll be billed on the first of the month at the start of each new billing cycle, depending on which one you pick. If you choose to be billed every month, you’ll be billed on the first day of each month. If instead you pick three or six months, your subscription will renew on the first day of the fourth and seventh months, respectively. So for example, if you sign up in January and choose a 3-month payment term, you’ll be billed on the first day of April. If you sign up in January and choose a 6-month term, you’ll be billed on the first day of July.
We start processing orders at the beginning of the month for existing subscriptions and then about once a week after that for any new orders that come in. Orders can take anywhere from a few days to a week to process, depending on volume and weekends and holidays.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
WHAT KIND OF GAMES WILL YOU SEND ME?
It’s really hard to pin down a description of what you might get in ten words or less. We scour the game world and work with the hobby’s best publishers to find the best games with different themes, mechanics, styles, and identities. And with our personalization system, we do our best to send you games that are tailored to your unique preferences. That said, we only really have two firm guidelines that guide our game selection. First, since we’re avoiding the universally known games from bygone decades like Monopoly, Scrabble, and Yahtzee. Second, we have to be mindful to keep shipping costs affordable, so games in our Classic subscription will generally be about 2 lbs (1 kg) and under and games in the Bold subscription will generally be about 5 lbs (2.25 kg) and under. You can take a look at our Past Games section to see a few of the games we’ve sent in the past.
HOW BIG ARE THE GAMES?
Because of shipping considerations, we generally have to limit the size of the games we send to 2 lbs (1 kg) or less for Classic and 5 lbs (2.25 kg) or less for Bold. Sometimes we get great deals which give us the leeway to send larger games, but generally they tend to be on the smaller size. Look at some games whose MSRP is in the $25-$30 range for Classic and $50-$60 for Bold.
IS THERE AN OPTION FOR ME TO GET BIGGER GAMES? A ONE TIME GAME BOX?
There is now! You asked and we delivered! Check out our Bold subscription for larger games and check out our Gift Box for a one time package of games. The Bold subscription comes with the same new-to-your-collection guarantee and the ability to personalize your subscription based on your preferences. The Gift Box doesn’t come with the guarantee and personalization, but will always include at least 4-5 games of various sizes, genres, and styles with a combined MSRP value of over $100!
CAN I SUGGEST A GAME THAT I THINK YOU SHOULD SEND?
Absolutely! We love suggestions! Just send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Game Suggestion” and the game’s name, publisher, and preferably a link to the publisher’s or game’s website.
CAN I PITCH A GAME TO YOU?
Sorry, but we’re not a game publisher (at least, not yet). We don’t make games here, we just find great ones and send them to our customers. But if there’s a game that you think is awesome, even if it’s yours, send us an email and tell us about it!
I’M A BLOGGER/YOUTUBER/ETC. CAN I GET A FREE SAMPLE TO REVIEW FOR MY AUDIENCE?
Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Promotional Box Request”. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate all the requests we get for press samples. But send us an email with: URL, number of subscribers/readers, and number of monthly page/video views and we’ll get back to you if we can.
RETURN, REFUND, AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
We try to have our return policy be as fair and hassle free as possible. We offer a 15 day window (from receipt of the game) to return your game if any of the issues below pertain to you. To initiate the return process please email our customer service at [email protected] All of our return requests are reviewed and responded to within 1-2 business days. If you receive 2 of the same game with your order you can easily return it to us. If you receive a game you have already listed as “owned” please email us immediately and we will begin the process of the return/replacement. While we do our absolute best to make sure our customers are happy with their monthly delivery, we cannot guarantee that every individual will be happy with every game they get. As such, we are unable to accept returns if a customer feels it’s not a good fit or they don’t like it. However, if a customer does not feel the game they received is age appropriate for their family/children please email us as soon as possible. These situations will be considered on a case by case basis.
We will happily offer refunds under the situation that a customer accidentally creates 2 separate subscriptions and as such is charged twice for the same thing. If you realize this has happened, please email us immediately and we will begin the refund process. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refund to show up on your card, bank, or Paypal statement. Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds to any subscriber who has not cancelled their subscription(s) after the renewal date has already taken place. Subscriptions must be canceled before the renewal date to avoid being charged again. This holds true regardless of how quickly a subscription has been canceled after a renewal.
To avoid renewals of any kind you must cancel your subscription before the next renewal date. If you cancel after the renewal date you will be charged for the next subscription no matter how soon after the renewal you cancel. You may cancel at any time and it will not affect your current subscription. For example, if you sign up for a subscription with a 6-month payment term and cancel 3 days later. You will still receive one shipment a month for six months. But your subscription will not renew and you will not be re-billed on the first day of the 7th month.
